AN IDEA BECOMES REALITY

Let the aesthetics of mosaics, once a privilege of ancient civilisations, invade your environment with Quatome Micro Mosaics.
The combination of artistic expression and 21st century technology opens up endless possibilities for decorating your living space.

THE HISTORY OF OUR RESEARCH

Micro mosaics are the result of years of research and finetuning to find the answer to the wishes and solving the frustrations of our customers. This has led us to the development of the Micro Mosaics as a decoration system that is elegant, esthetical, highly adaptable, very plannable and easy to install and maintain.

WHY IS IT SO DIFFERENT?

Quatome Micro Mosaics go one step further than a painting or a picture. The ever-changing effect of the structure of Quatome Micro Mosaics makes the space come alive. You will enjoy the image of what you hold dear on many more levels.
Quatome Micro Mosaics give interior designers and artists the opportunity to showcase their artwork and design in a unique and impactful setting. The innovative material and our extremely flexible, manageable and predictable way of doing things help to create any project in a wide range of shades, sizes and with the desired impact.
Quatome Micro Mosaics brings freedom to the commissioned artist as the artwork is no longer physically bound to a canvas, but can be used indoors and outdoors in villas, yachts, private jets, walls or ceilings or even swimming pools.…

ON REQUEST OUR ARTISTS CREATE INDIVIDUAL PATTERNS

Our material is a durable combination of Alumina and glass, shaped in small mosaic elements (124 pcs/dm², 12.375pcs/m²) separated by joint filler (grout) no thicker than 1,2 mm.

The translucent effect obtained by reflection of light by each Micro Mosaic brings a different experience, no matter where you are in the room.

To add to drama the grout can be soft-toned, shiny or even self-lighting. Treated for outdoor use to stop fungi and algae.

These are the support for designs of artistic freedom in any form and colour, with size only limited to the limits of the space itself.

We have own mosaic patterns prepared for usage, but a bespoke pattern can be developed jointly considering the technical requirements for production and further finishing.
Both the material and the shape of each Micro Mosaic limits the risk of scratches.

HOW QUATOME CREATE MICRO-MOSAICS

Each realisation of a Micro Mosaic Tableau includes full project management by Quatome throughout the duration of the project.
The price includes all costs from the initial concept, technical advice in the creative process, pre-glazing inspection, production and installation within a radius of 1250 km.

1. MANUFACTURING CLUSTERS

From high-precision tools, we manufacture the so-called clusters in technical ceramics, the likes of which we are otherwise only familiar with in laboratory equipment, catalytic converters or dental technology. In the groupings of the clusters, we determine the design for the individually visible tesserae. These are then individually coated by hand with a layer of glass and fused with the ceramic. The result is an optic of the highest manual precision that offers the viewer a completely new optical resolution.

2. MOUNTING THE CLUSTERS ON A BASE SUPPORT

After a visual quality check, the clusters that are deemed perfect are mounted on a base support according to a previously determined pattern and thus prepared in a locked manner for colouring — a canvas is created, so to speak, for the ultimately designed motif from the artist’s hand.

3. GROUTING THE CLUSTERS

After the glaze colours have been burnt in, the clusters are installed as a large-format installation at the desired destination. As a final step, the recesses are grouted, the motif becomes an absolutely precise mosaic with the patented “sequin effect”. The effect between the cementitious joint material and the high-gloss reflective surface of the mosaic elements is what makes Micro Mosaic so unique.
